My Qualifications

LICENSED REALTOR® Licensed Realtor

There are differences between REALTORS® and real estate agents. Although both are licensed to sell real estate, the basic difference between a real estate agent and a REALTOR® is a REALTOR® is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®. As such, the main difference that you hear a lot about -- but are likely confused about -- is that a REALTOR® must subscribe to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.

Ken Anderson, REALTOR

The Code of Ethics is strictly enforced. It contains 17 Articles and various underlying Standards of Practice. The Standards are much more restrictive regarding conduct than those governing agents who simply hold a real estate license. The REALTOR® Code of Ethics helps assure that you can have faith in my sincere desire to help you achieve your real estate needs.

Networking with other local REALTORs® is a vital part of successfully marketing your home. The Atlanta Board of REALTORS® provides numerous opportunities for me to meet with other REALTORS® throughout the year.Monthly email updates and access to local & state websites allows me constant communication and keeps me informed on the latest issues affecting the real estate industry. I also hold membership in the 40,000 member Georgia Association of REALTORS® and the 1,300,000 member National Association of REALTORS®, assuring even greater exposure to your listed home.

As a Senior Real Estate Specialist, I have received extensive training to address the real estate needs of maturing Americans. The SRES designation was originally developed by the Senior Advantage Real Estate Council 10 years ago to focus on the needs of home buyers and sellers aged 50 and over. My specialized training allows me to distinguish and understand important trends related to the 50+ population in areas such as:

Housing, finance and retirement income considerations of 50+ consumers.
Counseling strategies to help clients and customers plan ahead for life transitions.
Key differences in housing options, from age-restricted communities to age-in-place design to assisted living.
Applications of the Housing for Older Persons Act (HOPA).
Ins and outs of reverse mortgages.
How to use pensions, 401k accounts, and IRAs in real estate transactions.
Ways in which Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security affect real estate decisions of 50+ clients and customers
How to recognize and protect clients from mortgage finance and loan schemes and scams that target 50+ borrowers.

Certified HUD Specialists are the only REALTORS® who can represent buyers in a HUD transaction. Buying a HUD home is substantially different from typical real estate transactions, and my training regarding these differences assures that your best interests will be protected. Also, certified HUD Specialists are the only REALTORS who have access to view the inside of HUD homes and they are the only REALTORS who can place a bid for buyers interested in HUD homes.
